EHCA - Ready, Set, Grow!!!

Just a quick note to talk about our christian school. Tonight we are having our kick off event for a fundraising campaign. We are hoping to raise new funds for carpet, tuition assistance and more vehicles. Along with some other stuff, but as I prepare to go to the kick off event I just wanted to publically say how grateful I am for Evangel Heights. This school has been an awesome part of our lives and we are blessed to have it. So if you receive a fundraising letter from our family please pray about what you could do - even a few dollars will go a long way and you will be blessed for it!

Here is another one.

Emails drive me nuts sometimes!

So I have been trying to email videos from our youths night of human video performances and have had no luck. Not sure what I am doing wrong so I thought I would post them here and then at least I can direct people SOMEWHERE to see them! Hope you enjoy them - the kids worked so hard!!

Day Off!

OK, OK, I just had to write a quick note to say THANK GOD for days off sometimes! I have papers to write and a house to clean, so it is a welcome day.
Saturday Grammy Tam came up and spent the day with me and the kids while Pappy Lee, Steve and Andrew were at the church for the Fantasy Baseball Auction. Baseball is such a long season - although I love to go to the games - How in the world can anyone keep so much information on stats in their head? THOSE BOYS!! Anyway it was a good day. Grammy played outside with the kids while I took the washer apart! After spending what we did on a front loading washer I was determined to fix the clog myself. So far --- SUCCESS!!!
Sunday we went to Grandma Barbies and Pappy Jacks for lunch and fellowship. It was such a nice time. The kids love to get together with their cousins and play. Too bad it only happens a few times a year. I am really trying to make purposeful time together with everyone. We are still preparing for the next awesome opportunity that God puts in front of us. Anyway - great weekend AND Monday off! I hope everyone is doing well.
Please, please pray for my friends Ben and Lisa - they each lost a family member this past week. Ben lost his cousin in a freak accident that took his family by shock. She has two little boys too! Please keep that family in your prayers. Lisa lost her husband after a long struggle with cancer. You can never be prepared - even though you are preparing. I learned that through my Dad's battle with cancer. So please lift them up as they try to absorb these losses in their lives.
As much as we miss our loved ones when they are gone it is wonderful to know that they have been promoted to glory. So my question for you today is this:

Are all you loved ones going to be promoted to glory? If there was an accident would you at least find comfort in knowing that they knew Christ as their personal savior? If the answer is not a clear and resounding YES I KNOW MY LOVED ONES ARE SAVED - then what are you still doing reading this? You have work to do!

Just for Laughs!

Where O Where?

Transitioning is tough sometimes, but exciting in the same way. As we have prayed about where God would have us go next we have spoken with some awesome people and learned so much. We have learned different ideas, seen things through different eyes and found out some new stuff about ourselves through this "gut check". What is the most awesome part is that God is in control and we are ecstatic about His plans for us. We were concerned about our kids reactions, but they have surprised us once again by being so excited about the possibilities. Sometimes I think how lucky our new church will be to have these kids who are so on fire for God - Steve and I are just the adult chaperones - LOL

On to other news my daughters 6th grade class came back from lunch last week and found that their two "female" hamsters now had 8 babies. Hahaha!!! We have already had the discussion that we will not be interested in applying for adoption. They are tiny little hairless rat babies... yuck!

Andrew's JV basketball team ended their season UNDEFEATED!!!! They tore through all the other teams this past Saturday and ended up first (of course) in their division. I am so proud of him! He has really disciplined himself this year and the proof is in the pudding you could say!

Will is tremendously excited about switching from half day kindergarten to full day in two weeks. They have been preparing them for the changes and he is beside himself. So we get to have a lunchroom practice run through next week! These just might be the best chicken nuggets he will have ever eaten!

And then there is our precious Reba! They have projects on famous people from Pennsylvania and her life is totally about W.C. Fields! Not tell me how did my daughter end up with an alcoholic for her famous person? LOL Every article we read on him leads us to a not so great lifestyle. She is actually very concerned about whether he was a christian. I am loving her heart!

So that wraps us up currently! Steve and I have found ourselves spending more time together now that basketball is over and that has been awesome. We can't wait to see what happens next - it is like reading a good book and waiting on the next installment to be published. Keep us in your prayers! Whether it be Alaska, Florida, Indiana, Texas, Pennsylvania - I dunno - I just want to be where the church is on FIRE! I know God has been preparing us for something exciting!

God's Grace

Galations 2:21

I do not set aside the grace of God, for if righteousness could be gained through law, Christ died for nothing.

Can I talk about the subject of peace enough?

Peace - something that many people speak of, but do they really know what peace is? Have you ever felt true peace? I have to be honest and say that the definition of peace is ever-changing in my life. Each time struggles come up in life and I truly surrender them to the Lord I find a greater peace than I have known before.
Tonight we had an awesome prayer meeting and with change on the horizon in our lives and a good bit of uncertainty I am truly at peace. To have my Pastor and members of my church praying for us and God's discernment in our lives was a little overwhelming for me tonight. The old me - the controlling me :) - never experienced this kind of peace. God is in control and that is much, much better than me being in control. Him I trust - me not so much! Human nature will always plague me, but His perfect wisdom and will for my families lives is what it is all about. So not to ramble - have you experienced peace? If not pray for it, seek it, it is an awesome place to be cradled in God's secure grip. ---- Blessings!

Are you packed yet?

I was trying to find the words to some up the day so far....

Reba helped me out - remember the saying "A picture is worth a thousand words!"

Happy 6th Birthday Will!!!!

OK Ok - everything seems to be about Will lately. However, he turned 6 yesterday and it was such a neat day! His party is Sunday, but we had family last night. I would love to add more photos, but having a bit of technical difficulty. Well really I cannot find my USB cord for my camera - anyway I will upload a video of the candle blowing shortly! Can't believe my baby is 6!!!!!

Movin' Out!

What a great show! The second installment of Steve's V-day surprise was tickets to the Billy Joel broadway show - Movin' Out. It was so good and I was amazed at how the songs were arranged to tell such a moving story. Afterward we walked around downtown and checked out the local stuff and then headed back to our hotel. What a relaxing night! Although nothing is like home - I didn't sleep very well because of their poofy pillows :) but the next day we strolled around town. Had a great lunch at a Japanese Steakhouse and took in a movie - then back home to the kids. Not even 24 hours and I missed them so much. It was good for mom and dad to steal a little time away though.
